The band San Francisco never forgot.

Formed in Marin County in 1965, The Sons of Champlin brought a sprawling psychedelic soul sound to the Bay Area — horns, harmonies, long jams — years before anyone had a name for it.

They shared stages with the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin, recorded for Capitol Records, and played the Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom. Somehow, they slipped through the cracks of rock history.

Tell It is the first full account of their story — drawn from rare photographs, original interviews, and decades of research. Published by Fat City Press.
